I am building recently finished a matched pair of combat planes, based on the Funbat plans from Bloody Mick’s.
I made a silly mistake with the first plane, cutting the wing way too long. I had to excise a section to preserve my leading edge – which takes advantage of the blue fanfold foam’s folds – and get everything back where it belonged.
Click the images for more detailed descriptions of each step.
Watch the maiden flight of the BlueBat, here.
You’ll find my Funbat’s official page here.
Planned setup:
- HURC 2712-17 ‘Blue Wonder’ motor
- GWS 7035 propeller
- Hobbyking SS 18-20A ESC
- (2x) HKSCM9-5 10 gram digital servos (ailerons)
- Hextronic XT900 9 gram servo (elevator)
- 3-cell 800 mAh LiPo battery
