I took my wife’s Nutball out for a flight this week, only to discover that something’s gone horribly wrong. The Dollar Tree foam board it’s made from has delaminated; the paper has completely detached from the foam. At first, I … Continue reading

My Four Tiger Moths
I do love me some Tiger Moths. I currently have four flying: two GWS 400s, a GWS Pico and a little scratch-built moth of my own construction.
Tripehound – scratch-built 1/12th scale Sopwith Triplane
This is my 1/12th scale Sopwith Triplane. It’s built entirely from Dow blue fanfold foam. You’ll find more about the construction of the plane, here. I had endless problems with this plane and gave up on it several times. I … Continue reading

Winston flies (a little bit)
It was a short, scary flight but, for the first time, it was something approaching a real flight. I actually have some hope now that I can get this bird in the air.
