In addition to bamboo strips on the leading edges, I added some semi-scale braces between the horizontal stabilizer and the fuselage. The braces are made from piano wire (.032″ I think). They are bent into an ‘L’ at the top, poked through the stab just behind the bamboo strip, and poked into the fuselage at the bottom. I used foam-safe CA to glue them at both ends.
